If you use pass-thru RJ45 connector, it is much better than other camps.
It is very compact when closed the handle.

My first two RJ45 crimps were sub par and I immediately blamed the tool – “Aw man…I ‘shooda got’ the Platinum Tools one…^%$&%$^%$^%%^%$^%$*&()&**^&%$!!” After closely inspecting the connectors under magnification however, I discovered that I hadn’t inserted the connector quite deeply enough into the tool’s socket before crimping (operator error!). I did another two RJ45 crimps – inserting the connector as far as it would go into the socket while applying mild force to prevent the connector from receding. I then held the crimp in the closed position and wiggled off any wires which hadn’t immediately fallen off and voilà- two perfect RJ45 connectors!
I am only interested in this tool’s crimping and pair-wire cutting function as a single operation. I don’t use the wire stripping feature on this or any tool as it is much to easy to inadvertently score the wire pairs underneath the outer sheathing. I use cuticle scissors to strip Cat6 – one cut lengthwise, then two quick snips laterally. I zip the rest of the sheathing off in a jiffy and I’ve never scored a single paired wire!
Suggestions:
Get your pairs nice and straight and they will push through the EZ connectors like ‘butta.’
Push the cable as far as it will go into the EZ connector. Leave at least 1.5″ of the stripped wires proud of the sheathing so you can hold the sequence flat as you push through the connector holes.
You can twist the protruding wires super tight with lineman’s pliers before crimping. I personally don’t, but I’ve seen it done; however after the cable is tightly seated inside of the EZ connector, make sure to taper the protruding wires slightly inward. This will assure that all 8 wires will be cut and won’t bind up in the crimper socket.
While crimping, use the cable itself to apply resistance to keep the connector tight in the tool’s socket.
Hold the tool firmly closed at the bottom of the crimp and wiggle off any stragglers to get a clean cut off of the 8 wires.
Good tool so far – highly recommended.

The only downfall with the design is the crimper built into the handle for crimping the metal strain relief/grounding tab. It’s exactly the same as the other tools but that doesn’t change the fact that the design is just not right for a thick cable. You can probably use it if you were using a cat5 cable with a drain wire, but it definitely will crush the crimp tabs poorly and deform them for any 23 gauge CAT6a.
Nearly identical to the Platinum Tools Teletitan (highly rated by networking nerds) but $20 less and this specific tool has an additional toggle switch to disengage the tab which crimps the strain relief on regular connectors… and where the Platinum Tools crimper comes up short, this crimper has the pass-through wire cutter.

I’m a low voltage tech. and I always look for the best tools. Terminating Cat 5 and 6 wires are always time consuming. This tool definitely speeds things up a bit. The fact that it cuts the pass thru slack off is a huge bonus.
